New technology provides enhanced access, security and data integrity to public records.
December 20, 2022 – The Baraga County Clerk/Register of Deed’s Office is excited to announce the implementation of new software: AVID, Laredo and Tapestry, into their office. Baraga County worked with their current vendor, Fidlar Technologies, to implement the new technology via data conversion, installation and training sessions.
With AVID, the County will be utilizing the latest technology in land records document management. Major new enhancements include:
- Seamless eRecording implementation (allows documents to be submitted to the county electronically)
- Powerful reporting features, allowing the county to track important metrics and data on the office
- Efficient workflow, improving turnaround times from when a document is submitted to when it is recorded
In addition to the AVID land records system used by the Register of Deed’s staff, the office is also rolling out to new searching programs for the public, Laredo and Tapestry.
- Laredo is a robust and powerful tool for the professional user. By signing up for a subscription with the county, users can search the Official Public Record via the Laredo client and via a browser with Laredo Anywhere. Fidlar Technologies offers many training webinars and documentation for anyone interested in becoming a Laredo user. Just visit fidlar.com/laredo.aspx for more information.
- Tapestry is an online browser-based search tool that gives the public access to searching the Official Public Record with a per search fee. Designed to be easy-to-use for the general public and more experienced searchers, you can visit Tapestry at landrecords.net or via the link on the county’s website. In addition, if assistance is ever needed, Fidlar Technologies will be available for support via phone or email during business hours.
“These changes are going to be incredibly valuable to the constituents and taxpayers of Baraga County,” states County Clerk/Register of Deeds, Wendy J. Goodreau. “By implementing this new technology, we are ensuring the Official Public Record is safe, usable and accessible for generations to come.”
