Baraga County Chamber of Commerce and Michigan Works! Announce 2026 Business of the Year: The Finn’s Bar and Grill

The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce and Michigan Works! are pleased to announce that The Finn’s Bar and Grill has been selected as the 2026 Business of the Year. The award was determined by member vote on February 19 during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Dinner, held at the L’Anse American Legion.
More than 80 attendees enjoyed an evening featuring live music, dinner, raffle drawings, prizes, and the annual meeting as the Chamber celebrated local business achievements and community partnerships.
A Message from the Chamber President
Chamber President Debbie Stouffer praised this year’s winner, noting the business’s long-standing presence and renewed investment in the community.
“The Finn’s Bar and Grill represents exactly what makes Baraga County special,” Stouffer said. “They honor their history, they welcome everyone who walks through their doors, and they continue to reinvest in ways that strengthen our community. We’re proud to recognize their commitment and excited to see what they build next.”
About The Finn’s
“The Finns Bar and Grill is a unique grill and bar located at the edge of Avon Mt. and business 31 in Mt. Pleasant. Originally built in 1939 and rebuilt in 2012, they offer a diverse menu featuring burgers, pizzas, wraps, and sandwiches. Buck & Cass have been the proud owners since September 2023; having grown up in the area just a mile away. They offer great food, friendly service, and an unforgettable dining experience.”
The Nomination
“We would like to nominate the Finn’s Bar & Restaurant for business of the year. This business has made the effort to promote business in our community. With being very inviting to the community and visitors to our area – They are going to make an outside concert center. Our area needs more outdoor fun. The Finn’s Bar and Grill has been around longer than anyone can remember. It began as Daniels Bar and then Billy the Finn bought it. It has changed ownership several times over the years until Buckey & Cassie purchased it. They have spent the last couple of years updating the place and reinvesting profits to better serve the community. They are currently expanding the place by adding a band stage and a dance floor.”
