PAID CONTINENT HELP WANTED WORKING WITH YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY!
2-Day training on May 8th and 9th in Mackinaw City. Mileage and meals will be
reimbursed by County/State with a small daily stipend for attending. We should have more
details on this soon. Please contact our office at the number above for specific details on this training.
A worker may be called at any time for the services listed below. One can accept or decline
based on their availability, etc. no set schedule requirements…whatever time one can offer
is appreciated. Brief descriptions are listed for services, but specifics about each of these
will be taught at the training.
HOLDOVER-(most common need)
May be called to sit with youth requiring respite at holdover room located at BCMH. This
may be for just a short “cooling oƯ” period to put some space between the youth and
family, or may be a time to hold a youth while we seek a facility placement. Any lengthy
placements will be done in “shifts” with other attendants. We need to have same sex
attendants (male attendant with males, female attendants with females), so the more
attendants we have, the better.
TRANSPORT-
Secure transport of youth to or from detention/treatment facilities throughout the state.
This would require searching the youth and placing them in restraints, all of which will be
thoroughly taught and practiced at the training. These transports can happen almost any
time of the day or night. You would use your own vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage
(that’s where the most $ is made), meals, and hourly wage.
HOME DETENTION MONITORING
Attendant will make regular checks at the home of youth who are on home detention
programs. If applicable, they may check a tether to be sure it is on the leg of the youth as it
should be. They may also stop in during curfew times to be sure the youth is home at the
times they should be. Additionally, the attendant may be called to monitor this youth as
they complete community service.
COMPENSATION-
$12/HOURLY
$0.70/MILE
Meals, per state schedule
**Best of all, you’ll feel great knowing you are helping the youth, families, court, law
enforcement and community as a whole!
